Flexible, Person-Centered Care Delivered at Home

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) is a Medicaid-funded program under Health First Colorado that allows individuals to receive essential care in the comfort of their home with greater flexibility and control.

IHSS supports individuals who require assistance with daily living activities and health-related tasks while promoting independence, dignity, and coordinated care.

Who Qualifies?

To receive IHSS services, individuals must meet the following criteria:

Medicaid Enrollment

Be enrolled in Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid).

CFC Eligibility

Meet eligibility requirements under the Community First Choice (CFC) program.

Demonstrated Need

Demonstrate a need for personal care, homemaker services, or health maintenance activities.

Care Planning

Participate in care planning through a Case Management Agency (CMA).

Services May Include

IHSS covers essential in-home support tailored to each individual's needs.

Personal Care

Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and daily activities.

Homemaker Services

Light housekeeping, meal preparation, and essential household tasks.

Health Maintenance Activities

Support with certain health-related tasks (HMA) as authorized.

Coordinated Care

Care delivered under an individualized Service Plan.

How IHSS Services Are Delivered

IHSS can be provided one of two ways, depending on the individual's needs and preferences.

Traditional Agency Model

Services are delivered directly by Healthcare Agency Corp, with caregivers hired, trained, and supervised by our team — providing full clinical oversight, scheduling, and care coordination.

Participant-Directed (CDASS)

Individuals and families can choose to direct their own care through the Consumer-Directed Attendant Support Services model, selecting and managing their own caregivers.
